LEGION 39 FAMILY & SUPPORTERS — ASH STREET PROJECT UPDATE 
We wanted to provide everyone with an update regarding our ongoing conversations with the Town of Gilbert Public Works Department about the Ash Street Realignment Project.
The project is now moving into the 60% design phase, and we want our members and supporters to know that the Town has been responsive, communicative, and willing to work with Legion leadership and our Town of Gilbert Ad Hoc Committee throughout this process.
Where Things Stand
After continued discussions, Post 39 and the Town have reached a mutual agreement on a revised design that helps address one of our biggest concerns — maintaining access to Town public parking.
Yes, there will be changes to the area surrounding the Post. However, the proposed design provides a workable solution that may actually improve some of our parking options, including:
Potential access to two additional public parking spaces
A designated accessible/handicap parking space
Motorcycle parking
Continued access to Town public parking
We have attached the current diagram of the proposed new parking configuration, which shows the areas that will directly impact Post 39, our neighboring businesses, and the surrounding public parking.
Overall, the road realignment is coming, and based on the options available, we believe this proposed design provides the best approach for balancing the needs of the project while preserving as much parking access as possible for our members, guests, neighboring businesses, and the public.
Please keep in mind: This project is currently only at the 60% design phase. The attached plan is not 100% final and remains subject to change as the project continues through the design and approval process.
There is also plenty of time before anyone needs to worry about construction impacts — construction is still more than a year away.
We will continue communicating with the Town and will share meaningful updates with our Legion 39 family as the project progresses.
